Stokke's photographer threatened to sue owner Matt Ufford if he did remove the photo, but the article was already receiving a lot of interest and was posted on dozens of other websites. Stokke's pole vaulting images were uploaded to an online tribute website. When the photos were shared on social media platforms, online fan groups gained thousands of new fans.
