Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on October 28, 1967 to Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts that resided in Atlanta. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre from a very young age. While a student at Emory University he appeared in diverse productions, both on and off the campus. He joined the Air Force and while stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a production with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in the year. Walter was a student at Tulane University at New Orleans In 1957, the city of Louisiana where they had separated from the US Air Force. Walter began working for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio in 1960. In 1964, Walter and Betty Lou began production on the local Saturday morning children's television show called Bum Bum and His Buddies which they funded by themselves. The following year, they started The Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for six years. They had two more children: Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also called Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also known by the name Julie).
