Meagan Monique Good was born August 8 1981 in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles to Tyra Wardlow-Doyle, her mother who worked as her manager in her teens. Her father Leondis Leon Good is an LAPD police officer. The acting career of Meagan Good began around the age of four. Her family was from Canyon Country, California with three siblings. At the beginning of her career, she was an extra on television shows like Doogie Howser Amen and M.D. When she was thirteen, her debut role in a film Friday took place. Her first recognition came from her performance as struggling teenager Cisely Batiste in the movie Eve's Bayou in 1997 for which she received two award nominations. One of them was the first N.A.A.C.P. Image Award nominee. Good started with minor roles in film and TV for a few years before moving into adult roles in the early 2000s. She was Nina on Cousin Skeeter, a Nickelodeon T.V. From 1998 until 2001, she was a character on Nina in the Nickelodeon TV program Cousin Skeeter. She also landed minor role in the film House Party: Down to the last minute as well as 3 Strikes. She played Vanessa Scott on the 2003 sitcom My Wife and Kids. The show also featured her on D.E.B.S (2004), a comedy action film. This movie earned her the nomination of Best Actress by the Black Movie Awards in 2005.
