Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. Madekwe is English, and her father is Nigerian. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting certificate was awarded. While attending the school, she was a part-time actor in a number of stage productions, including the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began in the series Storm Damage. Since then, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. She then appeared in Elisha, a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In the same time, she starred as Ollie in six episodes each in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi role on ITV2 Drama The Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009, with the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before being ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe's departure from the series was announced in May 2013. After two years as the main character she appeared as a guest in the opening episode of season three. She played Tituba in the series Salem between 2014 and. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also had a role alongside her in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat was born to Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings - Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played in the summer months and play hockey in winters. Ashley did not walk; instead, she would dance. In the age of two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley was hooked on dance from that moment. Ashley competed in top-level divisions in jazz, tap hip-hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished in high school. She was crowned the top soloist at each of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
