Tommy Lee-5-1024x1024Lee was born Thomas Lee Bass October 3 1962 in Athens to David Lee Thomas Bass, an American U.S. Army sergeant and Vassiliki Papadimitriou who was one of the contestants at the 1957 Miss Greece beauty pageant (Greek: Basilike Papademetriou). He is the younger brother of Athena who is drummer. Lee was just two years old [4] when his father moved his family to the United States. Lee received his first drum sticks at age four and his first full-size drum set as an adult. He left high school in order to pursue the career of a musician beginning in the L.A. club band Suite 19. He was a fan of Van Halen, Led Zeppelin and Cheap Trick as a teenager. John Bonham and Tommy Aldridge were his main drumming influences.
